It finally arrived...this wonderful beautiful day. The drive was pleasant, uneventful. The parking lot looked like that at a huge dog show, will all sorts of van and car signs, kennels, grooming, training, breeds, rescues, the full spectrum! I pulled into the parking lot, and met Kim and her mom, both fellow PetsMart trainers, and we entered the group of fellow enthusiasts. We sat in the back, but no matter, the seats were great, the accoustics perfect. and the view was excellent. After a few words, out came Cesar Millan, and the audience as one, sent energy of admiration and affection to him, and he returned the energy for which he is so famous. What a fabulous, intense, articulate, entertaining, and informative speaker he is.His pretty wife, Ilusion joined him at times for some repartee which was delightful. "Train people?" you bet he did, and we loved every minute. At the end, 800 plus people rose to their feet and the ovation was incredible.Ordinarily I do not become a part of an audience, I guess because I've had so many years in the entertainment business. But this was different. We all loved him as a unit, and he loved us. As warm and friendly he appears on the boob tube, he is many many many times over that in person. Afterwards, Auntie was one of the lucky 50 who had been given a chance to meet him for an autograph and photo. I wanted to sit up and arf, but instead I shook his hand and stuttered a few words of admiration. His gaze was powerful, sincere, and honest. Nothing phony about this guy. Instead I saw an almost spiritual intensity. Auntie is a bit of a believer in psychic powers, and in all serious honesty I say I believe Cesar is capeable of this talent. As I looked at him, and he looked right at me as we shook hands, I could feel the energy he talks about. Auntie did give him a little book of toons where he is mentioned, whether or not he ever looks at it, I'll never know. But I'd like to think he did. I would urge any people who love dogs, who are interested in the thoughts of dogs and other connected subjects, to catch one of his live seminars if you are at all able. He is absolutely fabulous, in all ways.
I would also personally like to thank the sponsors, The White German Shepherd Genetics folks, for a wonderful very efficient operation. Everyone was cordial, friendly and the event went without a hitch. Great job y'all!
