This is Auntie at around age 7, on her circa l898 Herschal Spillman rocking Merry-Go-Round horse.
Yes, she still has the horse, he has a pretty white tail
and is dapple grey with glass eyes, and sits on a wrought iron stand.
She still pets him on the nose for luck too.
Here is Auntie, 50 years ago, at the U.of Iowa, as she painted "Herky", the college mascot, on the marching band's bass drum.
